Love the pants, unfortunately a hole developed in one of the pockets after one wear.

First purchased in 2004 or 2005. Only product that was perfect fit for petite body. This year's sizing has changed, and it's too big and blousy in the legs, just like the others. Go back to the fit of 2005! What a disappointment in the fit!

I'm average height, but have somewhat long legs and every hiking pant I've tried is too short and they look ridiculous. These come in long, although the quick description of the product does not say it. They dry almost instantly, are comfortable and not bulky, and the zip-off and on is easy. They do make a very slight nylon 'swish' when walking that annoys my husband if its really quite, but it does not bother me. I just bought two more pairs--but EMS please don't stop making them!

This is the second pair of these pants that I bought as gifts for my daughter. Her main work at the present is bird surveys, marsh and mountains alike. She loves these pants, esp the ability to go from long pants on cold mornings to shorts by the warmer afternoons.

I bought something like these a few years ago and love them dearly, but I've gone up a size and so bought latest edition - two pair! Great colors and fabric and great fit everywhere except depth from waist to crotch - really short and painfully tight at crotch when I sit, but a larger size would fall off my hips when I stand up.
Also, pockets are skimpy for cargo pants, and back pockets virtually useless. Velcro catches on net lining of pocket, which pulls out and looks silly.

These are very nice pants, and accurately described. I am 5'6" and ordered the tall size, but I had to send those back because they were too long. Regular size is just about right for me, if a hair still on the long side.
The waist feels just a little big, but the included belt nicely corrects that.

These would be great, if the cargo pocket was on the shorts, rather than the zip off legs. Once the legs are off, you are left with rather useless pockets that won't easily hold a map or a snack. But they were comfortable hiking, even with tights underneath on a cold, windy day.

These pants are very well made and should last a long time. They are perfect for hiking and camping. I'm 5 feet tall and the short length is just right with hiking boots but a little long when wearing with sandals, so I roll up a cuff. I would prefer the shorts to be a couple of inches longer, but overall I'm very pleased with the fit and quality of these pants. I would definitely buy them again. In fact, I hope EMS still sells them when mine wear out!

I wanted to order the Women's Adventure zip-off pants, [...]. A friend has a pair and I thought that was what I was getting when I ordered the Camp Cargos. Hers are a nice light bluish grey color. I first got the fossil Camp Cargos, then sent it back to try the tarmac, which I thought would be that nice grey. Maybe guys would like these colors, but do women? How about offering the same light grey for the Cargos you offered for the Adventure pants, plus a light off-white or beige, maybe even a light blue and sage green. [...]. Thanks!

I use these pants for day hiking. They are the perfect weight for where I go. I can wear the pants in almost any heat but if I want to wear shorts, they are easy to zip off without having to take off my boots.
I have also been told, that they are extremely figure flattering...
I bought one pair and loved them so much I ordered a second.
Offer more color choices and I will buy more
Also maybe have an L r R label in the pants legs so it is easier when reattaching (LL Bean does this).

They are great hiking to summits, kayaking, etc. and also doing everyday errands. Lightweight, comfortable, so easy to wear. You feel great in them. My husband bought a pair and we both wore them to a NY comedy club, he said to me " I now know why you wear them everyday!"
I should have bought it sooner..

These are great pants and I highly recommend them - especially since they are offered in a SHORT length! I've looked for a good, reasonably priced pair of these pants and generally find them too long for me (I am 5'2) and the finish at the ankle makes them hard to tailor to find. However, this short length fits great.
Used them for 2 weeks of driving, camping, kayaking, hiking etc in southern AK and loved them. They deal with varieties of temperature well and weather (it rained, we kayaked, etc etc) and are comfortable with layers and without.
The downsides? I'm a curvy girl and got these in a 14. The back pockets are closed with velcro and lined with a mesh fabric. When I sit down the velcro tends to release and grab the edge of the lining leaving me with a partially out pocket. It's not a huge deal but EMS could easily have made the non-velcro friendly part of the pocket lining a bit longer and I'd have been much happier. As it is I'll sew the pockets shut so that stops happening.
But I'm also buying a second pair.

I have been looking for a long time for the right hiking pants. These are lightweight, packable, quick-drying, comfortable, and even flattering.
The waistband is very comfortable and the belt can be removed completely, great for use with backpack or climbing harness.
THANK YOU for making them in a "short" version! So few hiking pants have that option, and you cannot cuff pants with ankle zips, nor do you want to be tripping on the cuffs while hiking.
These are the only pants I need to pack when camping, backpacking, or traveling.

After stocking up on EMS's wonderful Compass Pants, I tried out this style and it is yet another great looking, comfortable, well made pair of pants. I would say they are less breathable than the Compass Pants- Supplex is an older nylon fabric, but they have wonderful features e.g. a zip off into shorts conversion and an ankle zip up to make the conversion easier. The fit of these pants are very flattering and can easily be used casually as well as on the trail. I'm now working on stocking up on these pants. The only down side is the colors. There's a brownish-green and a very, very light gray. I would really like to have seen these in black, darker gray and khaki. To EMS's credit, once again they offer a "short" version for us pretty regular sized women- I'm 5'5" and the length is perfect. Thanks EMS.

These pants were great when for my backpacking trip to South America last summer. I also hiked Machu Picchu in them and they did the job well. When I got downpoured on in the Amazon jungle in Ecuador, they dried faily quickly. Also glad they came in 'bigger' sizes (14) becuause I find that other brands tend to fit funny. Wish they were sold here in Canada, but I'll make the trip to Buffalo to buy them for my trip this summer again.

Sweet pants but as a 6 foot tall woman, as with most pants, they were too short. I was excited to learn EMS started making tall sizes but it's still too short for me. Being thin just complicates the problem and I often just wear mens clothing.
Even though i returned them, they seemed pretty sweet.

I was thrilled to see the size 2 short in these cargo pants. I bought a pair a couple of years ago in the same size.
The pants are great but the new model doesn't have the elastic in the waist which makes the waist larger. I'll have to hope my pack waist belt keeps them up.

I wanted a travel zip off pant in a short inseam and really liked the look of these pants. I found that I was unable to get the color I wanted as it did not seem be made in the green thatI was looking for. I tried the tan it was ok, but lacked the pazazz I wanted. I also thought the material was heavy for what I wanted. I wanted to be able to use the pants to travel from NJ to hot/humid climates where I would zip off the legs and be ready to go have fun. I did return the pants in hopes that a different item might be availble in the spring that would work out better for me. I really like a wicking fabric and maybe with this evaluation you might consider doing this style pants in that type of fabric.
Eastern Mountain Sports Response:We do offer travel zip off pants made entirely of nylon. Incredibly lightweight and travel friendly! Call us for details at 888.463.6367.
