This is a fabulous product. The ability to convert these stylish pants to shorts or capri pants makes them absolutely the most versitile outdoor womens pant available. The material is comfortable and durable. The only caution is to be certain to purchase at least one size larger than you usually wear. As with most womens pants made for outdoor activities, they do tend to run small in the hips and thighs.

I love the style of these pants. But I bought my normal size and they were too snug! I'm lead to believe they run a size small. I'm 5'9", so maybe if you are a petite gal, they fit better. I'm thinking about buying them a size bigger because I do love the style and low-rise waist.

I liked pants a lot, they are not only convertable into shorts, but you can fold them as capri. Nice quality. The only problem - front pockets are too small.

Very comfortable and stylish. I'm 5'3" and ordered the short length, which is actually a little too short for me. The next pair will be the regular length. Other than that, these are great because they don't sit high on my waist and the rise is perfect.

These fit great. I am petite and find it very hard to buy any pants because they always need to be shortened. These were perfect. I have also washed them and they're still great. These pants are also great for hiking in changing weather. If it gets too hot, it's very easy to zip off the legs and convert to shorts.

I like the low waist as it makes for a more stylish pant. I wish NF would put zippers in the legs as one has to remove their shoes in order to get the bottom leg off to convert to shorts.

I'm on a nearly constant hunt for pants that are light, well constructed and fashionable. In this case I have been looking for something to use as a shell pant for colder weather that doesn't make me look like I've just come in from a run or am about to hit the trail. These fit the bill perfectly, nice colors (dark brown, green) and (bonus) an invisible tie that allows you to cinch in that gaping back waist.

Awesome pants
By KPVerified Reviewer from Nomad:) on 10/17/2006
Pros:
Breathable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable, Stylish
Best Uses:
Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Hiking

These pants rock!!! TNF has thought of everything--a built in belt so no need to wear one, snap closures so no lost buttons, tabs to hold up the pants legs when rolled to capri length, easy zippers to convert into shorts, very quick drying, easy to wash, very packable, and easy to wear several days in a row. Love them!!! The only con is that if you are tall (I am 5'8") they are a bit too short at pant length--they look a bit like funny highwaters:)But perfect at capri length.

Great Modern Fit Convertible Pants!
By KarenVerified Reviewer from Massachusetts on 10/3/2006
Pros:
Breathable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Low waisted, Packable, Stylish
Best Uses:
Backpacking, Camping, Hiking, Kayaking walking

Finally, someone has come out with womens convertible pants that dont creep past the belly button. And they dont have pleats. The convertible pant is such a great concept but until now they have been too fuddy duddy for me. Now I wouldn't call them super low waisted but they are much better than the alternatives out there. The North Face Porter Convertible pant is just the pant for the (late) 20 year old outdoor enthusiast! I liked them so much I bought 2 pairs.
