Perfect daypack for my needs

This bag is extremely versatile for my many uses. I wanted a nice daypack to go from city use, to outdoor recreational use, as well as use as a daypack abroad. I've also used it to bring gear to field hockey practice.
The bag is 'small', but that's why I like it. I needed one in which I could put my essentials for the day: an extra sweater, water bottles, my dslr camera, my purse, cell phone, an umbrella, etc. I like the padded hip belt which is able to be tucked in when not in use. This will be good when I am hiking and have a heavier load of water bottles and need the support. Another key selling point to me was the fact that the zipper pulls are metal and are able to be locked for a trip to Europe. All in all, the bag is well made, attractive, a good size for my needs, and practical as it has pockets for a (small) cell phone, water bottles, and a soft-lined pocket for an ipod or other elctronic.

I use this backpack for school(I am in high school now but choose the backpack based on future plans for college) it has a laptop pouch and great organization, I can fit all of my books in it. It is highly adjustable and fits perfectly to the back adn isn't bulky so it is reasonable to bring anywhere. There are any cons, it is an excellent pack and well worth the investment.

This is a quality product. It has lots of adjustable features and I liked it because it was small enough for my 5'2" frame. I do wish it had one more pocket because it is a little small. Otherwise, its a good purchase

This backpack is very functional and good-looking. My daughter is very happy with the way the pockets are configured and the water bottle holders. Though it was a more expensive backpack, I expect that she will have it for several years, being that it is so well made.

nice looking, a bit small

Great for rain, very nice design, seems very sturdy and it is easily adjustable from all sides.
It is quite smaller then the usual bag pack and if you have a couple of books and a notebook it is full, so not much help for student with a not minimal worklaod. I am still enjoying it however since it is high quality product.

Sometimes it can get difficult to put my books in my backpack if i have the side clips together but if i unbuckle them its fine. I love clipping all the straps around me when i have a heavier load than usual because i can feel it take the load off of my back. and its also so cute and small! perfect for any female.

I've had shoulder problems from ill-fitting backpacks, but this one has been wonderful. It holds my laptop securely, along with a notebook and one or two other books. A benefit of the pack's small size is that I can't overload it, and thus, I've avoided a return trip to the physical therapist. Unfortunately, the newest version has eliminated the inside zip pocket where my wallet goes. Since I carry the pack in urban areas, I'd rather potential pickpockets have two steps instead of one to get at my valuables (or an extra layer to slice). Bring back the two inside zip pockets!

Good pack smaller than expected but hey that's my own fault. Great for school because it holds my laptop very snug.

Women's Amira Daypack by the North Face
By Liz the college student.Verified Reviewer from newark, de on 10/5/2006
Pros:
Good Padding, Highly Adjustable, Large Capacity, Nice compartments
Best Uses:
College Student, Day Trip

I love my new north face backpack. I am a college student, and it is perfect for carrying around a lot of books Not to mention it has a compartment for my laptop. The only thing I don't really like abou it is the belt straps. Only because belt straps are not efficient for my use. I'm sure they would come ini handy if I used the pack on a day trip or something else of that nature.

Worth the Money in Comfort.
By Big BroVerified Reviewer from Los Angeles, CA on 10/4/2006
Pros:
Comfortable on the back, Very slim
Cons:
Back padding awkward
Best Uses:
Day Trip, Hiking, School, Travel

This backpack has what you need and nothing you don't. I purchased it for my sister who is going to school. I wanted a backpack that had enough room for the necessities but no extra pockets, so it's not too big. It fits one laptop and two books, or one thick folder and one thick book. There is also a smaller organizing pocket. This backpack is comfortable for her and with the slim design, the contents stay close to the body and do not sway around. I think it is a great design for a light backpack, although this brand is expensive.

Great price, could use a little work
By Mal FetVerified Reviewer from Oxford, OH on 10/4/2006
Pros:
Good Padding, Highly Adjustable, Plenty of compartments
Cons:
Small capacity

I've been quite satisfied overall, but I am disappointed in the capacity of the main compartment and feel that I do not need all of the straps that go along with it.

Wonderful backpack
By JenVerified Reviewer from Aurora, CO on 10/3/2006
Pros:
Good Padding, Highly Adjustable
Cons:
Small capacity
Best Uses:
Day Trip

This backpack is really nice. It is very comfortable and adjustable, and just a cute design in general. There is also a reflective stripe on the net so when your on a bike, you can be seen. Only problem is, the backpack is smaller in the inside than it looks. Once you have a laptop or a textbook it is hard to fit a lot of other stuff in it because it is not so expandable. But that is what was said in the description so the backpack didn't really lack anything. It was just a little smaller than expected but it was still definately worth every dollar I paid for it. I absolutely love it.

An Excellent Everyday Backpack
By KatherineVerified Reviewer from Cambridge, MA on 10/3/2006
Pros:
Good Padding, Highly Adjustable
Best Uses:

I use this backpack in college everyday. It has enough room for my books and there is even room for my laptop. There is excellent back support and it is very adjustable.

Totally worth every penny
By DebbieVerified Reviewer from Queens, NYC on 10/3/2006
Pros:
Good Padding, Great Laptop Transport, Highly Adjustable, Large Capacity, Student Friendly
Best Uses:
Day Trip, Hiking, School, Travel

As a first year med student, I purchased this pack as a laptop/notebook transporter. It has lived up to all expectations. Plenty of pocket room for accessories, a nicely padded compartment for the laptop, and enough room for notebooks/reasonably sized textbooks. The pack only improved once broken in. Straps make for adjustment to your own comfort level. Totally worthwhile!

Works just great.
By SaraVerified Reviewer from Munsing, MI on 9/27/2006
Pros:
Good Padding, Highly Adjustable
Cons:
Capacity could be bigger
Best Uses:
School, Travel

Everything is great, but the main compartment could be a little larger. Once I get my laptop in most of the space is taken up and I can only fit a few books in.
