        Comments about NRS Paddle Wetshoes:

Just purchased these wetshoes. Just tried them for the first time. It is early season and the water is still very cold. My feet were toasty warm while walking in the water. Easy to get in and out of with the side zipper. Sizes seem small, so you may need to go up one size. Will be great for early and late season kayaking.

            Wetshoes Work Well

                  Comments about NRS Paddle Wetshoes:

Bought these because I needed some foot protection while kayaking. My boat has so small a footbox, I cannot wear sandals because the soles are too thick. Needed something with thinner soles. Started out with wetsocks. These worked well enough but the soles were so thin that walking on the river bank to portage or scout rapids felt pretty close to going barefoot. Took a chance on these based on both success with other NRS products and EMS returns policy.

Fortunately, the choice worked out nicely. My feet fit into my boat and the soles are thick enough to allow comfortable walking when I am navigating rough terrain on the banks of rivers, the rocky bottoms of river beds or the sharp points in gravel takeout parking lots.

The footbed fit is true. I wear an 8.5 and bought a 9 because NRS sells them in whole size only. There is extra space for me inside, but this is not an irritation because the space is not excessive.

One other note on fit. I have ankles the size of cantaloupes so any footwear that is like a boot is unlikely to fit on my leg if it also fits my feet. These boots are zip-up with a Velcro flap at the top of the boot. I can zip the boot about 3/4 up and cinch the boot in place using Velcro strap. Not pretty but it works to keep the boot in place and my feet comfortable in 55 degree water.
