Comments about PEARL IZUMI Women's Select Thermal Barrier Bike Jacket:

I have used this jacket to run and cycle. The back pocket is very large but the zipper could be slightly longer to make it easier to put things in and take them out. This jacket is lightweight and great to run in. The bright color is great.

I love this jacket

Comments about PEARL IZUMI Women's Select Thermal Barrier Bike Jacket:

I am actually a 6' male. I didn't like the insane yellow color of the men's version of this jacket, and the medium in men's was far too short (like a belly shirt), the sleeves were way too long, and neck was way too tight. Made no sense. I tried other sizes with equally peculiar fit. Then I tried the women's large, on a whim. Bit too small. The XL fit me perfectly. I weigh 154lbs and am 6' tall. I don't know how 154lbs is considered an extra large woman--either it's our culture or by the time you're looking for a dedicated winter cycling jacket, you're probably the smallest you're gonna be anyway.

Either way, I love this jacket. It is an excellent wind break, it is very comfortable, water resistant and warm. The orange isn't quite as obnoxious as hunter orange, so while it's great for biking at night and riding off road during hunting season, you don't look like a complete freak walking through a store wearing it.

The rear pocket is a bit bigger than a jersey, which is good because there is only one. I usually don't zip it unless it's gonna rain.

The only thing I would change about this jacket would be to have a second sleeve sewn into the outer sleeve, with a thumb hole to wear under gloves for a better seal against wind. But, I have a lighter jacket with them that I wear as an under layer.

This combination, combined with a balaklava and lobster gloves have sufficed into single digit temperatures with negative wind chills.

Definitely worth the money all day long. A good coat or jacket is easily this much, and for the versatility and quality of it, it's almost cheap.
