Comments about DEUTER Women's ACT Lite 60 + 10 SL Backpack:
This is the first new bag that I have gotten in over 15 years! My old bag is an external frame. That being said, I am comparing something new and lightweight to something old and heavy. A few features that I missed with this new bag in comparrison to my old bag is the lack of external pockets. All my gear fit in but I was missing the handy pockets to help organize my gear.
I bought the rain cover for this bag and I feel that it is a necessity. Not only to keep the moisture out but to protect the bag from branches.
The bottom pouch is large enough that it fit our double wide Big Agnes cabin creek sleeping bag!
The bag is comfortable and the adjustable shoulder straps is a great feature. So far, the bag seems durable. We really stuffed them for our last winter camping trip. It would be good to have more attachment points to clip on gear.

Comments about DEUTER Women's ACT Lite 60 + 10 SL Backpack:
The Deuter ACT Lite 60 + 10 SL is my first extended day backpack and I couldn't be happier with it. I am tall and slim and tried on many different packs, the Deuter was the only one that fit comfortably. I've taken it out 4 or 5 times already and love it a little more with each adventure.

Comments about DEUTER Women's ACT Lite 60 + 10 SL Backpack:
I bought this pack last year in June and have been using it for backpack trips of 1-4 days. However I always end up with bruises on my collar bone from the straps after every trip. Up until now I felt that I was still breaking it in. But now realize its just not the pack for me. Its a quality, durable, functional pack that served its purpose. Its an adjustable pack for different torso lengths but I could not get it right for myself. The best thing is EMS took it back w/o question. Great customer service! Now I'm looking into the new light weight granite gear Crown pack.

Comments about DEUTER Women's ACT Lite 60 + 10 SL Backpack:
First of all, I replaced a tried and true Lowe Contour IV Plus 15 that I bought in grad school in the 1980s. While the Lowe was, and is still, a great pack it was time to enter the 21st century of women specific packs. This pack was absolutely great for fit, weight distribution, and durability of the granite peaks of the White Mountains. I found the women specific fit of the hip pad much more comfortable than the "unisex" Lowe belt on my old pack. I also liked the vent system that kept my back relatively cool even when climbing on a hot day. The little pocket on the hip belt was handy for bug spray, compass, my Leatherman, and lip balm.
