This is a nice warm jacket, but not at all what I expected. The outside isn't fleece, it's a fine cable knit that looks like corduroy, kind of like a military commando sweater in miniature. The inside is fleece, though. It's very warm and does fit snugly in the arms, as most fleece garments seem to this year. The outer material snags easily and mine already has a number of pulls in it after only about a month. So, be careful if you wear this in the woods or when exercising energetic dogs. It does look good, though. If I had purchased this at full price, it would have been returned, but I can live with the discount price I paid.

I bought this jacket intending to use it for casual dress during the colder winter months here in the Philly burbs. However, I wound up using it as a work jacket this past weekend and it performed superbly! I worked roughly 25 hours completely in the outdoors. The three days started out in the low teens and topped out at colder than seasonal temps with biting winds. I only wore this jacket with a smartwool midweight base layer and at absolutely no point was I cold. At no point did any wind penetrate the jacket and I was able to maintain complete range of motion.

A great jacket--nice fit (I have extra long-arms, and the jacket works well for me!), quality materials, warm (without being overly warm), and blocks wind--a must have for early spring in Maryland, where the weather changes every 10 minutes or so. Worth the price.

this a great jacket from EMS that looks good. It fits like fleece stuff we all love. EMS inside
but solid looks outside.

I wear this coat everyday and it is warm and serves its purpose well. the only drawback is that the fabric on the shell has already started pilling after only a month of wear. Mainly on the back wear it rests against the car seat while driving. The seats are laeather though so there isn't much friction when it rubs against the seat.
Its a good looking coat and fits well.
That past week its been in the twentys and this caot has kept me plenty warm enough

Purchased this to become a heavy weight layer that I could wear over a base layer. Purchased a medium and probably could have gotten away with purchasing a small, I'm 5'8" 140lb. This is definately a jacket as it has some stiffness to it. I was hoping that it would be softer and that I could lounge in. I have worn it a few times ice climbing and have been happy with its warmth and performance. All in all this is a nice peice that I will wear often.

Nice sweater, seems well made and a good base layer over a work shirt or long sleeve, wear it all the time for cool weather dog walks and my every day sweater over a dress shirt for work and casual business, only negative comment are that forearm sleeves are too tight/narrow for my Popeye arms....almost as well made as my Dale of Norway and i am more likely for the price to wear daily.

One of the best purchases I have made from EMS. The thing I like best about the Bastio is the fit. It is perfect in the shoulders and fits snug in the forearms. The merino wool blend is durable, yet still has a tailored look, and the construction and details are exceptional. The wind resistant fabric functions nicely in a cold wind, and the collar is comfortable even when fully zipped. Thinking about getting the Tarmac Green before it sells out!
