I was excited about these poles. I'd read reviews, understood that being lightweight meant that they needed some TLC but, still, even after having three other pairs of Carbon Fibre poles I was unprepared for how little effort it took to break these in two.

Upon the first slight wobble on a rough stone surface on the AT, one pole fractured right at the point where the "cord" is attached to the inner pole. This is also where the sleeve overlaps. There's simply nothing there to spread the load - it's a poor design. Hiking time, 2 hours.

Continuing on, some hours later the wrist strap on the remaining pole separated from the body nearly resulting in a bad fall. Again, no pressure, just light usage.

It's strange to see these advertised as for anything other than light duty on well-maintained, flat, easy-going trals.

I bought these for a trip that required trekking poles because they were the lightest ones I could find. They are amazingly light, and as strong as any others. The only problem was that the majority of this trip was on snow, and there are no snow baskets available for these. The included baskets were borderline useless except on hard pack. The blurb does call them "3-season" and I probably should have read that word a bit more carefully.

I'm a 70 year old woman who travels extensively and light. These poles pack easily in my 20" suitcase, are light to carry on outings and quickly open when I need them.

These expensive poles lack durability. I used these poles on a short daywalk carrying a light daypack. A low force stumble down a grass slope was enough to bend the alloy connection between the carbon fibre shafts. A very disappointing purchase. Wouldn't buy these again as they are unable to handle pretty gentle terrain.

Treck with confidence because these poles are free of locking clamps that may become loose and cause a collapse. The long hand grips allow a low grip to assist high step ups. I pack them in a hydration pack and carry them through multipitch climbs.

I recently realized that I would either have to give up hiking on steep trails due to knee pain or get past the idea that trekking poles were just for "old people". So when I was asked to accompany a school trip up Mt. Mansfield in Vermont, I decided it was time to buy a pair. Although I only used them on the way down the mountain, they made all the difference in the world as I experienced no pain at all. I also like the fact that they are so light and take up so little room in my pack.
