Comments about LA SPORTIVA Men's Pamir Backpacking Boots:
As far as build quality,i have certainly never worn a nicer boot. One piece leather upper and full leather lining are awesome. I have hiked and hunted and enjoyed great stability and support off-trail. Stiff rockered sole provides a natural gait out of the box with relatively short break in time. Outsole tread is great and I bought these because I anticipate the leather will outlive the tread and it appears these can be resoled when the time comes. Real nice boot that ought to last a decade our so.

Comments about LA SPORTIVA Men's Pamir Backpacking Boots:
I wear hiking and backpacking boots for everyday wear, office, etc. I love these LaSportiva Pamir boots and my only complaint is they run a half size small and that accounts for my uncomfortable tag; I wear a 9-1/2 US and that's what I bought. A size 10 would have worked out better. I still wear them, because I'm hard-headed. It is a great boot. The calf skin liners are nice too. I'm a satisfied, hard-headed dude and EMS has great service.

Comments about LA SPORTIVA Men's Pamir Backpacking Boots:
I believe in leather hiking/backpacking boots. I am hard on them, but believe that with a bit of care, they last forever. I purchased these to replace a pair of 15 year old boots. I have not been disappointed. They fit perfectly out of the box, and so far no blisters from what is a fairly stiff boot, though I am taking my time breaking them in. The boot is well made, and the calfskin liner is buttery soft. The boot is high and provides excellent ankle support under a load. I was concerned that the sole could be too stiff and might not provide enough "feel" but that has not been the case on the trail. One issue yet untested is whether they might, in the summer, be too hot, but I can put up with that if that's the only negative. These are not light boots so I would not recommend for average hiking, but on the rocky trails of Pennsylvania and New Hampshire, they'll work perfectly. While slightly more expensive than other brands I expect these to last another 15 years with some occasional TLC.

The quality in these boots is outstanding, I hope with some use the blister situation will go away. Time will tell. There better than my old Pivetta's

Comments about LA SPORTIVA Men's Pamir Backpacking Boots:
After writing down several 'step' ("one small step…" or "following in the steps of greatness") and 'boot' ("these boots were made for walking…" or "put on your sh$t kickers…") styled puns; I have decided that the winner is…….. These boots are a giant 'steppe' up from anything else I have ever worn! Get it? Steppe! Sorry, I work in Mongolia so I 'plague' everyone with 'steppe' puns. Yeah I know - not funny. Before I jump into my review, I want to quantify my usage. I am a graduate student working on my PhD in archaeology. I conduct my field research in the middle of nowhere Mongolia. Sadly, I do not get to carry a whip or a gun and I have never had to run from poisonous dart blowing natives. I do, however, direct a substantial survey project in the mountainous northern regions of Mongolia. As part of this project I hike several kilometers each and every day for several months each summer. Needless to say I have gone through my fair share of hiking boots and as such, I feel well qualified to talk to the greatness of the Pamir boot.read on at 307andbeyond.tumblr.com

Comments about LA SPORTIVA Men's Pamir Backpacking Boots:
This boot has a great support system.A excellent choice for those long extended backpaking trips will a heavy load. The full nylon shank gives you a stiff non flexing sole. Which provides superior arch and ankle support. The rokker tappered sole allows for easy walking. I have not had these boots for a long time and after 30 miles of treking in them. I can say they are one durable boot. But they will need alot of tlc.

Comments about LA SPORTIVA Men's Pamir Backpacking Boots:
The first day out of the box I wore the Pamir to the office, they were a bit stiff. I was was worried because the next weekend I had a backpack trip planned. The second time on my feet I wore the Pamir on a High Sierra trail with a 45# pack over 8 miles to our wilderness fishing spot, and though the boots were stiff to start I got NO blisters. By the time we got back to the truck at the trail head two days later the boots were broken in and I didn't have a blister at all. I have been wearing them since for day hikes to get them a bit dirtier, no one wants to see some one show up to Elk camp with new boots. I was looking for a non goretex boot because I have hot sweaty feet and these fill the bill and then some. I will retire my 14 YO meindels with only a slight tinge in my heart after all they lasted along time and saw many an adventure. I am sure the Pamirs will have a few stories to tell in due time. I expect these to last at least a couple of resolings...
Go for it.
