Just broke this in on a week in the Wasatch. With proper layering, it performed well in varied conditions, from sunny powder days to wind blown snow & ice. No binding in shoulders. Good ventilation and pockets, but zippers are tough to slide.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I expected this to be a fully functional winter ski jacket but it was just a very thin shell with the zipper for a liner but no liner included. Very disappointed. Don't know if it was a mistake or not.
