Comments about MERRELL Women's Moab Mid WP Hiking Shoes, Grey/Periwinkle:
After first hike, had to return first pair because of water. A few months into my second pair, they are absorbing water like a sponge. Very disappointed.

Comments about MERRELL Women's Moab Mid WP Hiking Shoes, Grey/Periwinkle:
I have been wearing Merrells for the last 15 years of so for hikes ranging from day trips in the woods to week long trips. I have always found them instantly comfortable with no significant break-in period. I ordered these on-line (they didn't have my size at my local store) and they arrived within a few days. As soon as I tried them on, I knew they wouldn't work. They felt too small throughout (not simply in the toebox). I think the waterproofing material they used made the footprint of the shoe overall smaller. The shoe overall was very well made. I went to the store and tried on the next size up, which was too big. I have no complaints about the shoe itself, but it seemed that when the company designed the waterproof version, they didn't think of the extra room it would take up in the shoe, making the overall shoe smaller.

Comments about MERRELL Women's Moab Mid WP Hiking Shoes, Grey/Periwinkle:
I had an older pair of these Merrell's, purchased maybe 8 years ago. They were so comfortable and durable--and I'd still be wearing them--but I had to replace them because my foot "grew" a half-size due to pregnancy (flatter arch). I just received my new pair, and while I have yet to go hiking in them, they are, like my old ones, very comfortable from the first wearing. They are supportive but not stiff. Stiff boots always gave me blisters, whereas these boots are more akin to sneakers (but a lot more rugged)--well-cushioned and easy to wear.

Comments about MERRELL Women's Moab Mid WP Hiking Shoes, Grey/Periwinkle:
This is my second pair of the MERRELL Women's Moab Mid WP Hiking Shoes. I wore the first pair daily (except summer) for over three years. These are the most comfortable, durable boots I've ever owned. My dog and I hike daily in the state forest and foot comfort is never an issue when I'm wearing my Merrells!

Comments about MERRELL Women's Moab Mid WP Hiking Shoes, Grey/Periwinkle:
I've had these hikers for the last few years (doing minimal hiking until this past year when I've hiked 15 or so?). They have remained comfortable, provide decent support, and have held up material wise. I'll be looking into getting another pair soon.
It's hard to tell if the waterproof portion truly works. My feet have never been sopping wet after a hike-but wet from sweat likely-hard to tell.
The tongue doesn't keep debris out. But that's expected on a hike I think.
