I hiked a mountain 2 days after getting these boots. They were comfortable and able to provide great traction on a difficult hike. The only problem I had, was when I hiked down the steep part of the mountain, I felt like my big toes were jamming into the boot creating some pain. I went back to the store and the sales person suggested some inserts to prevent the problem from reoccurring again. Nice boot - I would recommend it to my family and friends.

My first pair of hiking boots and they were comfortable when I tried them on in the store. I had high hopes for these. When I went on a 7.5 mile hike, I was in pain the entire time. The upper ankle area has a very uncomfortable part on the inside which rubs, and hits your ankle and the area above your ankle. I wound up with a red swollen patch above my left ankle and a cut on my right ankle which was also severely swollen. For the money I paid, I expected much better. Very unhappy.

I bought the boots for ankle stability while hiking. Unfortunately, although I wear a size 8, my toes are almost hitting the front end of the boot so they seem small. I have wide feet and needed to unlace the first two laces to decrease pressure at the widest point of my foot, but suspect if you have narrow feet this would not be a problem. It did help. I am able to wear these on shorter day hikes of 5 miles without problems.
