Comments about PATAGONIA Women's Drifter A/C Shoes:
I hate hiking boots. I have hiked and backpacked in my trail runners, but my feet hurt at the end of the day and I need a little more support when hiking on rocky ground. When I planned to hike the Whites, I new I need a heavier sole, but can't stand the thought of something on my ankles. With this shoe, my feet feel wonderful after a day of hiking with a full pack. I have had no ankle rolling issues, as the heel box has a ton of support.
The best part of this shoe is the roomy foot box. With a shoe instead of a boot, your foot slides forward more when going downhill. This shoe does allow your foot to slide forward a little, but it's loose enough to not crunch my toes. I have had one blister, and that was because of the seam of my socks, not this shoe.
I am going to buy an extra pair I like these so much!

Comments about PATAGONIA Women's Drifter A/C Shoes:
I did not buy these, but I almost did cause they are awesome. So comfy, but secure with the shank. I knew I wanted gortex, with a firm hiking boot that didnt look like a hard core boot. I gravitated to these immediately, and they fit perfectly. The only reason, I didnt buy them was cause my bf and the sales woman convinced me i needed to support my ankles for mountain climbs. For flat hiking, these are great. I tried the mid-version, but they hurt my ankle but the foot part fit just like these ones. I ended up with the Merrell Moab Mids for bigger climbs, but I wished that I could afford these on top of those, cause these sooo comfy.
