Comments about KEEN Women's Targhee II Mid Waterproof Hiking Boots, Slate Black:
The good: These are fabulous boots, and everything that I was looking for. They have a wide toe box, but not so wide that I trip over it. I have very loose ankles, and these have a nice brace for a mid-rise boot. I also wear orthotics, and these are among the only boots that don't tip my feet inward.
The sad: Unfortunately, after 3 weeks of casual wear (I haven't been hiking and have only worn them around town to break them in), a piece of rubber on the back right of the boot (attached to the sole of the boot) has come detached. Actually, now that I check, a couple of these kind of flashy pieces of rubber along the bottom edge of the boot have come detached. I intend to write to keen and see if they have any recommendations - they don't seem to be structurally important and maybe I can just glue them back down - but it's unfortunate given that these boots are not even a month old and I want to put them through some hard wear this summer in the field.
So: Most comfortable and well-supported boots I've ever owned, but some of the flashy detailing is coming apart, making me question how well these boots are truly made.
**A side note: It's only the outside of the right boot. I also have friends who have an older version of this boot that they're still wearing, so I hope it's just a fluke!

Comments about KEEN Women's Targhee II Mid Waterproof Hiking Boots, Slate Black:
Have owned these since last July, made the mistake of not wearing them until our Sept hiking trip. Surprisingly, not horrible, for a break in period, only small outside heal blisters, my fault. However, since, have used them about 5 miles a weekend, walking the dogs. These boots continue to loosen up and I have to stop and re-tie the laces. They frustrate me, my old pair (not Keen) never did this. Can't figure out the issue. Overall, comfy, but have considered returning several times, still may. Sorry.. Just getting tired of feeling like I don't have ankle support when needed.

Comments about KEEN Women's Targhee II Mid Waterproof Hiking Boots, Slate Black:
I was looking for new hiking/snow/rain boots, so I was looking for something with a good tread and that would really keep my feet dry. I'm very happy with these already. People recommended buying up a half-size (which I did), and the size 10 fits comfortably on my 9.5 foot. I'm especially excited about the big rubber toe cap, which was the first thing to go on my other (non-Keens) shoes. I hope this'll be a lot more durable.

I heard so many good thigs about this boots and yes.. They were right.
I hike every weekend and I am very picky on the boots. No need to break in... Just comfortable like my old boots. The only thing is... it stains... but... it is boots. I conceren comfortablity first so it doens't really matter to me. It will be my hiking boots until winter comes..

My last pair of hiking boots required a lot of breaking in. The Keens were very comfortable from the moment I put them on. I love them. My favorite footwear.

Comments about KEEN Women's Targhee II Mid Waterproof Hiking Boots, Slate Black:
These boots are amazing. They are sturdy, cushioned and super easy to break in...they were my new favorite pair right out of the box. I am new to "real" hiking, so this was a great boot to get me out on the trails!

Comments about KEEN Women's Targhee II Mid Waterproof Hiking Boots, Slate Black:
This boot keeps my feet warm in the winter. It's roomy enough to wear a light weight or medium weight sock. Into the third winter of my first pair, they stopped being waterproof. That is the only drawback. They are comfortable enough to wear on long walks.

Comments about KEEN Women's Targhee II Mid Waterproof Hiking Boots, Slate Black:
Bought these boots mid-November and my first day out in them it had snowed about 4" + the snow that was already on the mountain. Hiked about 7 miles round trip in the snow and they were AWESOME! My feet stayed dry and warm, and there were no blisters to speak of. I've worn them on several trips since then and I have no complaints! They are light-weight, and have good foot/ankle support and they worked well with my crampons also. Deff recommend them!!
