I love these socks. They fit me much better than Smartwool's thin running socks (PhD's). They are lighter. The double lining takes away almost all of the friction.
I am not an avid runner, so I cannot comment on the durability. Someone who runs a lot should try them and comment. Even if they do wear out quicker (and I do not know if they do), I would just buy more because of the comfort.
