As a regular runner of mud runs including Tough Mudder & Spartan Races, I have found these shoes to be an essential part of my running gear. The reason, these shoes grip the muddy slippery trail where other shoes leave you crawling. These shoes also stay light even when wet & muddy as well as clean easily which have made these my only choice for mud runs.

I did not expect such a good quality for this price on line. I used 'em on trains, road run and mountain/road biking during the fall, spring and summer in light rain and snow. I live in New England and Solomon Men's shoes are a good fit for this type of wet weather (8 months/year). Good price, fit and quality. I like my new short shoes. And I am very picky on any product.

I ran three training runs in these shoes before participating in a trail race. It didn't take any time to break them in. They are very lightweight and comfortable. Great cushion and support. The sole is very aggressive and was great in wet conditions, mud, roots, rocks and loose footing. I got great traction on all terrain and no slipping. The sole is very gummy and great for trail running.
The only problem I had was finding the right size. I typically wear size 10, but ended up with a size 11, so the sizing isn't true.

I have two pairs of these; this model and the model with the climashield waterproof toe. They are great shoes. The only complaint is that the they don't breath very well, especially the climashield model. After I wear them, even if just doing errands or around the house, I remove the insoles to let them dry.

the tongue is too long and digs into your skin while you run. also, I ordered a size UP and they are still too narrow. they look cool though
