We bought this for a camping trip with our 3.5-year old daughter. She was so excited to have her own headlamp. However, the on/off switch was tricky from the beginning and after less than a year of ownership, it does not reliably work. I have an old Princeton Tech headlamp that has held up well, but their newer products don't seem as good. We also had to make a special trip to a hardware store to buy a small phillips-head screwdriver to be able to intall the battery.

One of the two worked for one day and the on/off switch stopped working. The second one I ordered the battery cover which accepts screw or fastener was stripped and we couldn't even get the battery in.

Very disappointed that the screw that holds battery compartment closed was so tight we stripped it and could not open. My 11 year old nephew will miss out on the headlamp adventure we had planned as part of his Christmas visit.
