Comments about DEUTER ACT Zero 50+15 Backpack:
Wow, Deuter is out there thinking and listening! This pack fixes everything that I didn't like about the 50+10 ACT Lite (my former pack). Deuters are comfortable (vari-harness), have great air movement, are lightweight, durable packs. This pack has removed the bottom zip compartment (never used it), and added an extendable collar with the ability to remove the lid completely and extend your volume and/or days on the trail. You could even save even more weight by rolling down the collar and leaving the lid at home, or at base camp. The pockets are even nicer on the 50+15. Well done Deuter! Very well thought out. This is a serious pack at a seriously good price. I just bought my second.

Comments about DEUTER ACT Zero 50+15 Backpack:
Nice pack, but after two trips in the high Sierras over 7 days, there are already two holes in the "robust" Duratex-light fabric on the bottom of the pack. I pack carefully and light, and treat my gear well, so I was very surprised to find holes when unpacking from the second trip. A much smaller issue is the pack is a bit snug for fitting a Bearvault Solo bear can into.

Comments about DEUTER ACT Zero 50+15 Backpack:
I bought this pack for one reason: It fits my back perfectly. I had tried on many other packs that felt alright, but was astonished when I put on the ACT Zero. It rides comfortably even fully loaded. I am 6 ft tall, 180 lbs, and usually wear a medium size pack.
Another draw is the roll top. It's quick and allows you to really compress the size of the pack. I find myself using it whenever I go on day hikes.
The zippered belt pouch is large enough to hold my point-and-shoot.
I fix my sleeping pad to the bottom of the pack using two carabiners and some elastic cord.
