Comments about GARMIN Montana 600 GPS:
Used it on a trip to canada with Topo maps. Had one issue where it would keep rebooting the entire trip, seemed the battery was overheating. Hasnt had the problem since though. Dont like that you cant use a standard USB to power while driving in auto, must use their automotive adapter to view the screen. All in all a good all around unit, for atv, auto, boat. Not too bulky, good screen size to read while traveling

Comments about GARMIN Montana 600 GPS:
I am an avid paddler who loves to explore new waterways by Kayak. The Jacksonville, Florida area is a paddlers's paradise with an abundance of lakes, creeks, as well as the St. John's River, the Intracoastal Waterway and Atlantic Ocean. A handheld GPS is essential in planning and tracking adventures on the water.
Before I bought the GARMIN Montana 600, I had spent a lot of money and wasted a lot of time using other devices. The GARMIN Montana 600 is the first unit that lives up to its description and my expectations for a convenient and dependable on-water guide. The screen size and clarity, touchscreen input, and downloadable (by subscription ) satellite photos combine to make this waterproof navigation device perfect for my purposes.
When I called tech support on an unrelated matter, they informed me that although waterproof, the GARMIN Montana 600 should not be exposed to salt water. No problem! The touchscreen works perfectly through a waterproof bag.
The only con is the expense of the device, especially considering that it does not come with loaded maps.
