Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Pingo Daypack:

This pack is perfect for bringing all your electronic gear along with you. Not only is there a sleeve for your computer, but a pocket on the front that will fit your favorite e-reader and a pocket on top for your MP3 player with a port for the headset; this is a phenomenal addition for the tech. savvy. On top of all this, it has a pocket for a water bladder and hydration port.

Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Pingo Daypack:

I purchased a similarly-designed Dakine pack (Pro II) just before finding the Pingo. My only complaints about the Pingo are its weak waistbelt design for the pack's intended capacity of 30 liters, and lighter material. The 26-liter Dakine waistbelt design is much more substantial and supportive, incorporating pockets for small items, and the material is much more stout. On the other hand, the Pingo's pocketing and organization is better than the Dakine's.
I carry a good deal of stuff around for my day, and wish I could figure out a way to morph the Pingo's capacity and pocketing with Dakine's Pro II waistbelt and material.

Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Pingo Daypack:

I wanted something for day hiking that had enough compartments to make it easy to find things. This fits the purpose very well. I can keep things like my smartphone and wallet in separate compartments, and have plenty of room for storage of extra layers. It is a comfortable size for me. It has lots of outside straps for hanging things off it too.

I bought this for a hiking trip I have coming up and have tested it on a few day hikes so far... very comfortable, can fit everything I need and could certainly double as a school/work pack as well. I'm very pleased with the purchase.

Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Pingo Daypack:

I bought this for every day use (commuting, riding my bike, Ultimate Frisbee practice, going to the gym), and for day hiking trips and longer weekend trips. I also plan on using it for a longer two week trip to Russia & China this year.

It's spacious, and easy to pack. Plenty of pockets for easy access to necessities. Side pocket that's perfect for a Nalgene. I can pack a disc (frisbee) in the laptop sleeve. It's got enough space to pack my sleeping bag, sleeping pad, rain gear, several changes of clothes, and toiletries. You can even strap in a yoga mat into the bottom straps under the pack.

This was literally one of the best purchases I've made all year. I use this pack for everything.

Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Pingo Daypack:

Seems like a good solid bag. Nothing to wow you, but it gets the job done. The padded laptop compartment is nice. I'd say it's great for commuting, office or school, but I will probably continue to use my old Kelty daypack when I'm in the field for daytrips.
