I followed directions and put boiling water in for 10 minutes before putting my boiling soup in it. After only 4 hours in 30 degrees, the soup was luke warm at best. Do not buy this product.

I use this thermos everyday to take my coffee to work. It is great for looks, but falls short on functionality. The suction cap (inside) is difficult to screw in and leaves potential for spilling coffee in your bag. We've used another brand of thermoses for years, decided to try this, and will probably go back to the the other brand's model. Sorry EMS, I usually love your gear!
