Salomon's XR Mission is an all-terrain middle distance training shoe with a responsive ride, performance fit and grip.Features/Benefits:

I orgionally went to EMS to purchase the Brooks Cascadia 7, fortunately they were out of size 11's. The lady working in the shoe department was very nice and helpfull. I have very week ankles due to rolling them a lot in basketball. I also play frisbie golf several times a week on rough rocky terrain, i really needed something to keep my ankles strait without having to wear boots. The xr missions were the salespersons #1 choice for my situation and problems. I can not agree more with her choice, they have a great wide foot print and a solid sole side to side but flexable toe to heel. If i had known this ahead of time i would have gotten the XR mission CS which are waterproof and for more colder climates. I love the laces, i love the comfort in the toe box, i love the flexable side walls, i love the shoes. The only gripe i have on them is the outer wall close to the middle where it curves inward presses against the side of my foot, i was a little painfull, the salesperson had warned me about it thought and says that it will go away after one solid run, i cant wait.

I was surprised at how lightweight these shoes are for a trail running shoe. I used them in a 10k trail race and was very happy with the fit, traction, and comfort. The toe area is very wide and roomy which seems unusual, but it isn't a problem because the lacing system still allows for a tight fit if desired.
