finally got to go on a multi day trip. shoes felt nice out of the box. i did go up a half size from my reg size, but it just felt a little better on my toes on descents. i like the stiff shank that keep my feet from bending over every small rock or root. the first day we encountered rain and the shoes kept me dry. traction wise i think i excpect way to much, but they were mostly good. just a few slips on wet rocks, in the dry they are great. maybe the breathability could of been a little better or maybe i could of tried lighter socks because sweat made my feet just a bit damp (not that bad). overall i am super pumped on these shoes. dry, enough grip, stiff shank, and seem very durable after scraping the sides of them numerous times. thanks to Chad R. my EMS rep for all his info.

I hike about 15-25 miles a week. This shoe is tight across the top of my foot. I adjusted the laces but no help. I always buy Merrell hiking shoes but the fit for the same size always varies between models. The Moab fits good as did the old Chameleon 2 Ventilator but the CV3 and CV4 do not fit me as well. I like to buy from the store but our local store did not carry this model so I had to take a chance and order online. I will return them to the store and try something else. I will stay with Merrell and EMS.
