Comments about OBOZ Men's Beartooth BDry Backpacking Boots:
When I go Backpacking I like to be comfortable. I am in the woods to enjoy it not to go lite and freeze at night. For a 4 day 3 night trip I carry about 40-50 pounds of gear and food especially if I'm climbing. I needed a pair of boots that are heavy duty/take abuse, comfy, have good support and be waterproof. The Beartooth is the boot I was looking for. The footbed has a lot of support and the leather lining on the back half of the boot is awesome. My heels stay in place and I can walk many miles in comfort. I had not heard of Oboz before trying this boot on but I am very impressed and will be sure to give them a try next time I need a new pair.

Great service at EMS! They did not have my size and they ordered an 111/12...perfect. I wore thick sock during the last snowstorm...Fantastic grip in snow!
A bear would have a hard time biting through this boot,
Water and snow just fall off this boot...this is the boot for me!

Comments about OBOZ Men's Beartooth BDry Backpacking Boots:
Boot looks good and the heal inside the boot is kind of form fitting and the tensor straps that are part of the lacing system help pull your heal back into place. This is to help you on descents so that you don't jam your toes on the way down. The boot was not ready to go out of the box for me, but I do have sensitive feet and had to break them in over about 7 small hikes. At first I tied them really tight to make sure the tensors pull my heal all the way back. That was a mistake my recommendation is to lace them up and take a low elevation hike and toss another pair of shoes in the pack during that break in period. I do have a service issue that one of the tensors (alloy tooth like material) has twisted and I can not straighten it out? I will bring them in to see what can be done, but do not want to break in another pair. Great ankle support, comfortable, stable, great grip and keep my feet dry.

Comments about OBOZ Men's Beartooth BDry Backpacking Boots:
Comfortable right out of the box. First time that I wore them we did a 7 mile hike up a four thousand foot mountain in the White Mountains in NH. No blisters or hot spots. Heal is very supportive with no slipping in the heal on the downward sections of the trail. Boot was very stable on the loose gravelly sections and gripped really well on the wet slab surfaces. Great ankle support and reinforced sole reduced the impact on the bottom of my feet when scrambling down rocky sections. Stayed dry when going through several stream crossings and muddy boggy areas on the trail. This was a strenuous trail and the boot performed well. Was not familiar with this brand of boot but now a favorite. Well constructed and good weight for a backpacking boot.
