Comments about ZAMBERLAN Men's Vioz GT Backpacking Boots:
There is a slight nick in teh leather on the side above the sole, which has been patched with a finish somewhat different from the rest of the shoe. A bit frustrating for a high end high cost shoe that otherwise is a work of art.

Comments about ZAMBERLAN Men's Vioz GT Backpacking Boots:
Great boot. Just received them and went for a 6 mile hike in northern Michigan. It's a cold sloppy day(rain and snow) and a good test for warmth and waterproofing. Lots of room for heavy socks and my arch supports.

Minimal break-in period. My feet were still warm in 10 degree weather after wearing SW liner and mountaineering socks. Beautiful craftsmanship.

Comments about ZAMBERLAN Men's Vioz GT Backpacking Boots:
Great boots, very comfortable, roomy in the toe box. Boots feel like quality. I have been a long time Asolo buyer, but they just don't fit the same now. I looked at Danner, Asolo, Keen, Merril and Vasque. The Zamberlan's fit the best. I wish they had them in the local EMS store to try on, would have saved me alot of time in returns.
While these are the most $ I have ever spent on boots, I look at them as an investment in my comfort. I don't mind spending extra for quality.

Comments about ZAMBERLAN Men's Vioz GT Backpacking Boots:
I bought a different brand of hiking boots to hike the Grand Canyon. In prep for that hike, those boots caused blisters and pain after just a couple of miles. I bought these at the last minute before this trip and did not even have time to break them in. I'm not all that fit or athletic anymore and these boots made my feet the only things that did not ache at the end of the Grand Canyon hike. The trail was sloppy with rain and mule urine all the way up and down and the traction was great. The comfort was exceptional. These boots were a little pricey for my budget but I do not regret a cent as they basically made the trip a joy. These are the highest quality and most comfortable boots available and I would not hike in anything else. After this trip, I went shopping for light dayhike boots to use during the summer. There was no need. Though heavy-duty and all leather, these breathe exceptionally and can be the only footwear in your hiking arsenal. I really can not recommend them enough.

Comments about ZAMBERLAN Men's Vioz GT Backpacking Boots:
As soon as I slid these boots on I knew they were the most comfy boots I'd ever owned. There was no real break in pert iod for the upper, but I feel like the sole needed 20 or so miles to break in for grip. A little slick at first. Done a lot of on and off trail hiking in these in the adirondacks, rugged. My only concern is that this model doesn't have a toe rand so the leather there is consideralby tore up after a couple hundred miles. Doesn't effect function and adds character I suppose. Other than that they keep my feet dry and comfy (no blisters) all day long. Great boots.
