This is a nice well made coat with good temperature options with removable inner vest / liner. So far I've been out in about 20 degrees with wind and it has been fine. I have not had colder conditions yet. However, it is too heavy for backpacking considerations. Also, there's too much of it to consider for that purpose.

I just got this jacket at the "end" of the winter. Well, the winter has just kept going into the spring. I am very pleased with the jacket and have had ample opportunity to test it in blizzard (high wind, inches/hour snow) and rain/sleet conditions.
The jacket is very warm with the insert in place. With the hood up, you are toasty warm and kept dry. I've used it to walk 1 mile + in some nasty conditions, and it performed excellently. I have not tested it in truly frigid conditions (teens or lower), but expect it would be fine with a sweater or additional warm fleece or equivalent (i.e. you'd probably want more than a T-shirt in that situation).
The accent color (ash) has a bit of a greenish hue rather than grey. I like this, but it may not match everyone's taste.

I bought this jacket for skiing because my old one just couldn't keep the wind out. This jacket does just that and if it is a warmer day I just take the liner out and there is a built in powder skirt which helps to keep the wind and snow out.
I've been out in 10 degrees skiing and it kept me plenty warm with nothing else but a long sleeve shirt.
The shell is durable and should last a very long time. Well worth the money and I don't usually spend close to this much for jackets.

Daily this time of year. Great to be able to remove an inner jacket if weather warrants & still look and feel good.
Have not found anything to dislike about it yet. Very satisfactory for my purpose.

Took this jacket to Vermont in very cold conditions 0-15 degrees and it held up against pretty solid gusts of wind. Only took the shell--the liner is a bit bulky and a synthetic material (though supposed to be very warm). Sizing is pretty good--regular fit with some room to layer.
