Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Women's Emmy Jacket:
The product description plays down the warmth and functionality of this jacket. It's way more than a "cute fleece." I had planned to use it as a mid-or lightweight fleece for working outside or walking the dog, but even with temps in the teens, combined with a toasty scarf, hat and gloves, the jacket kept me sufficiently warm. It blocks the wind really well, perhaps due to its one possible drawback, a stiff material (I'd hoped to be able to tie this jacket around my waist when I got warm on trail runs, but cannot). The hood is awesome for when the wind changes direction or picks up and you are not wearing a hat (I live by the ocean and the hood has saved my ears several times). The sleeves and waist cuffs are snug but lay well/flat. The fit is a bit boxy and asexual (not feminine) but that allows for layering (which, again, I haven't done much of yet, even with temps in the teens), although the inside fleece is kind of rough and doesn't slide over other layers well. A great addition to my outdoor winter wardrobe.
