This shirt is the perfect weight for a bottom layer for running in a cold East coast winter. The sleeves stay snug because of the thumb holes.

Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Men's Techwick Midweight Crew, L/S:
I use it as a layer in colder weather when I am working at project sites. When I arrive early it is pretty cold and as the day warms up I shed my jacket and this shirt still provides warmth even though it is still chilly. And it breathes well so I don't feel stuffy.
Pros

- Stays Pretty Dry
- Warm
Cons
- none
Best Uses
- Any outdoors activity
- Biking
- Hiking
Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Men's Techwick Midweight Crew, L/S:
I have been wearing this as a base layer with either a sleeveless windbreaker in 40 degree weather or with a light cycling jacket in 30-40 degrees weather on my 10 mile commute for the last month or two. Kept me warm and stayed dry. Very comfortable to wear - I ended up buying two more within a few weeks, as these are very good quality for the price. I would highly recommend this product.
Pros
- Comfortable
- Good Fit
- Keeps me warm
Cons
- none
Best Uses
- Biking In Cold Weater
Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Men's Techwick Midweight Crew, L/S:
I use this when I go running or biking and it's cold out. I don't feel any of the cold wind hitting me like I would with a normal long-sleeve shirt.
Pros
- Fit
- price
- Weight
Cons
- Thumb holes
Best Uses
Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Men's Techwick Midweight Crew, L/S:
I used to buy EMS base layer uppers. When I was shopping for the coming winter, I went to my local EMS. Lo & behold, all the EMS brand uppers (Techwick & Climatize) had thumb holes. I'm reasonably certain they didn't have them the last time I acquired some.
It was a nice day, so I walked the 1.5 miles to a comparable competing recreational equipment retailer, where I purchased my upper base layers.
I REALLY dislike thumb holes in my garments.
Pros
- Fit
- Soft
Cons
- Not warm enough

Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Men's Techwick Midweight Crew, L/S:
I have owned this product and still use it, even with a snag or two. The new ones, however, came with sleeve lengths that were absurdly long for a medium; fully 3 inches longer than the shirts that I now own. I will try exchanging for a small but fear that the body wil then be too small.
Pros
- Comfortable
- Wicks moisture
Cons
Best Uses
- Any outdoor activity
- Hiking
- Mountain biking
Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Men's Techwick Midweight Crew, L/S:
This is a great mid-weight baselayer for fall and winter. Have used this for hiking during winter and mountain biking in fall and early spring when the temperature drops. Wicks nicely. Fit is comfortably fitted without being a sausage-skin. Would have gotten 5 stars except for some pilling after a few washes; not bad but it's there.
