The EMS Men's Ice Down Vest is an excellent buy for a winter vest. The vest contains 650-fill goose down that will keep most men comfortable when they are wearing a long sleeve woolen shirt underneath and a moderate weight shell over the vest. What I like is that the vest extends to 27.5 inches down the back and has a cinch cord that diminishes the effect of cold winter wind. A moderate shell layer over the vest should be enough for most active winter sports such as skiing.
I have compared the EMS Ice Down Vest to the more expensive North Face Nuptse 2 vest and I could not discern any major difference in warmth between the vests. There may be a difference in style between the vests but the functionality of both vests seemed about equal to me.
The EMS Vest is very packable and trendy. It can be rolled up in one of its pockets and stuffed in your ski pack where it takes up little space. When you have finished skiing for the day, it can be worn over a dress or sports shirt for après dining by candlelight at the lodge or restaurant.

I use the vest for yard work and outdoor events. I have a bigger build and vest is comfortable a little bulky but expected with down filling. It keeps me warm but have not worn it below 30 degrees. A deal if on sale.

I use this every day.In the car,around town,short hikes,outdoor chores.It has not shown any signs of wear,this vest has not gotten any TLC.

Great vest. My first "down" coat or vest, and I love it. Keeps the body core warm, which really does keep most of the whole body warm. I use it for moderate days (30-40 deg F) when hiking or walking or just running errands. The fit is superb and the styling is just what I wanted (no "tubing" look). Only problem I see is that feathers are sneaking out through the fabric, but hopefully that will subside.

I like the vest I just needed something to put over my quilted flannel. Would have got 5 stars but the arm holes are a bit snug. Otherwise nice vest
