I used this coat on an early spring trip with chilly, blustery wind and rain - i was comfortable the entire time!
No so great - where my backpack strap rubbed, rain water seemed to leak through (at least the surface coating)! - is this normal?

The best thing about this jacket, for me,is the fabric, both the inner and the outer, since it's not the usual slimy, uncomfortable, unwearable rain jacket fabric. This is one of the only raincoats I own that I would be happy to wear even when it isn't raining.
However, I haven't worn it in heavy rain, or even strong wind, yet, so can't comment on whether it's water or wind proof.
It seems to be cut to an average shape, not too form-fitting, nor too large. It seems to have a feminine cut, meaning not too narrow through the hips nor wide in the shoulders as some outdoor clothing can be. I am a pretty basic size 10, I think, but went with a Large since I want to be able to wear layers under it if I need to, and it isn't too baggy at all. If I was in a store, I might have gone with a medium, but I purchased it online. I like the nice bright blue color, too.

I bought this jacket to replace my ski shell that I lost. I have not had a chance to use it as a ski shell, but it has worked well as a raincoat. I expect to use it for hiking this summer as well. The fit is a little off. I bought the small because the extra small was a little tight in the hips, although it fit well everywhere else ( I wanted to be able to layer). The small, while roomier, seems to have longer than normal sleeves. Fortunately, I can cinch the Velcro to keep them up a little. In general, I think this jacket is superior to the shell I was replacing.

The Jacket is great. Great color, great fit and the material is really soft! I have no idea how it is waterproof but it is. It has mesh pocket inside the jacket. Hood fits great and covers very well from the rain.

I haven't had a chance to use this jacket hiking yet, but I'm looking forward to it. So far the jacket has done the trick while commuting in freezing, wet, windy Boston weather. It's super lightweight, seaming is really well done and, for a shell, it's relatively breathable. Good in the winter over my fleece, and will be a nice transition jacket for New England spring and fall.
