Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Men's Sector Down Jacket:
I loved this jacket when it arrived. It looked awesome and was obviously a quality product. In general, the jacket fit me well and looked great on me. It was a slight "v-cut"-- so it fit my size 43 chest and yet was not baggy around my 33/34 waiste. The problem was that the arm holes were tight or cut too high and were digging into my armpits, and I was only wearing a long sleeve t-shirt when I was trying it on. It had to go back. An XL would have been too big. I am 5'10.5" and 190 with an athletic build. Hope this helps people considering this jacket. I would only recommend this jacket to skinny friends without broad shoulders or muscular arms.

Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Men's Sector Down Jacket:
I loved this jacket for about an hour. When I took it off, my black sweater was covered in tiny white and gray feathers! I thought this would only happen once, but no. I have to return it- as well as have three sweaters cleaned to rid them off all the feathers.
I've had this happen periodically with sleeping bags, but this makes me look like I'm wearing clothes that came out of the dryer with a couple napkins accidentally left in the pockets.
NEEDS TO BE LINED.
Pros
- Awesome color
- Comfortable
- Nice fit
- Super warm
Cons
- Doesn't Zip In Shells
- No Sync Tabs
Best Uses
- Mid layer
Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Men's Sector Down Jacket:
This is an awesome jacket. This item pairs nicely with the Lined Thunderhead that EMS no longer makes. The lack of the sync snaps cost this item a star for me. An alternative would have been to use a zipper compatible with zip-in shells. I love the jacket and the combination of orange with the black shell looks sharp!
Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Men's Sector Down Jacket:
Just got the jacket at my local store. I always have a hard time figuring out fit online, so I'll give my details. I'm 6 feet, 165 lbs, and wear a 38 regular suit jacket. I do not have broad shoulders or big arms. The medium fits comfortably without layers underneath. The armholes are pretty high. I'm very happy with the fit as-is, but I don't intend to put a lot of layers underneath it. I think this is a good fit for a slimmer guy.

- packable
- very warm
Cons
- no hood
Best Uses

- Backpacking
- Winter Camping
Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Men's Sector Down Jacket:
I purchased this jacket for winter hiking/backpacking so I needed a jacket that was warm, light weight and compact. The Sector covers all of these very well. On a recent hike (with just a tee shirt underneath) to an exposed summit I had to unzip because I was cooking inside. With temps in the teens and 25 mph winds I stayed very warm. I'm sure this jacket will take you below 0 with no problems. With an upcoming trip to Mt Lafayette in New Hampshire and I'm going to use this jacket as insulating layer under my winter shell. A hooded version with lined pockets would be a plus. This is a great jacket worth the money.
Pros
- Lightweight
- packable
- Warm
- Water Resistant
Cons
- No Fleece Lined Pocket
- no hood

Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Men's Sector Down Jacket:
Love the jacket, lightweight and I love how it packs into its own pocket. I kinda of wish it had a hood and fleece-lined pockets. Colors I would add would be a green and/or a blue.
