Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Men's Power Dry 1/4 Zip:

Very nice lightweight second layer for use in skiing, winter hiking, ice climbing. Still looks good enough to wear casually - wore it at a high end Taos art show (yeah, didn't have anything else)! Just wear another layer underneath - don't be the 70's V neck man!

Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Men's Power Dry 1/4 Zip:

These shirts are great. I have 4 colors now. I wear as a 2nd layer/mid-layer when doing any outdoor activity, and I like them for travel, and even for work. The major appeal for me is the wool blend (warmth when you need it, quick-drying, comfortable, okay when wet). These are on the thin side--I find them ideal for 3-4 seasons use as a top or under layer. The zipper is nice for adjustment depending on temps and activity level. A bit pricey, but I wait for sales of up to 1/2 off. If I had one shirt to live in, this might be it.

Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Men's Power Dry 1/4 Zip:

This is the most comfortable piece of clothing I've ever owned. It fits great and has spotless construction quality -- no lose threads or bad stitching.

It breathes very well and is just the right warmth to backpack in during cold weather (down to about 40 degrees) without breaking a sweat. The material feels great against your skin and slides smoothly rather than catching on your hair or sticking if you're sweaty. The zipper is high-quality and features a nice touch: a zipper cover at the top that keeps your neck or chin from rubbing against it when it's zipped up all the way.

I use it mainly as a midlayer and wear a lightweight baselayer underneath. I also wear it around the house, town, or in bed all the time because it's so warm and comfortable. Fortunately, it also looks great so you can wear it around town without standing out at all.

Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Men's Power Dry 1/4 Zip:

I like the fact that the shirt doesn't have a silky feeling that many base layers have. Also, it is looser fitting than many.
But, both the crew neck and the ¼ Zip neck Techwick have sleeves that are 2½ to 3" too long in the XL size. There should be a XL with a regular sleeve and for those with long arms, an XL Long. No other brand I own has such extra long sleeves (37"). Also, they have an opening of 2" for putting one's thumb through and pulling the sleeve down past a jacket cuff (or under a glove). For the one already worn, the sleeve and hole will have to be sewn shorter & closed. The other shirts will be returned to EMS. I would only recommend it to a friend with long arms, due to the alterations required.
