Comments about KEEN Women's Pyrenees Hiking Boots:

This boot was about 1/2 size too small but the Keen website said it ran small. After I exchanged them for a larger pair they were very comfortable boots with sturdy inserts and good arch support, though I think I really needed a 1/4 size up...too bad shoe makers don't do that. They required little break in time and I was very happy with them UNTIL I tested them out in snow. My socks were wet, granted I didn't notice my feet were wet until I took the boots off, but I don't think they will hold up at all in rain. And they were way too wet to just be from sweat. Upon closer inspection the rubber soles do not seem to be properly sealed to the leather uppers - something I noticed on the boots I exchanged for the larger size but ignored. It's a shame because my other pair of Keen boots perform great in wet conditions and the Pyrenees are fantastic except for the fact they were not waterproof.

As soon as I put these on and laced them the grommets were digging into the front of my calves. I knew that wouldn't work for me so I returned them.

Comments about KEEN Women's Pyrenees Hiking Boots:

They fit as described (I wear a 7.5 regular shoe, size 8 for these boots gave me plenty of room for thick wool socks). Lots of ankle support. Easy to break in - I haven't gotten any blisters yet. The only part of my foot that is having to adjust to these new boots are my ankles - getting slightly bruised by so much support there, but that's already starting to go away as the boots become less stiff. And I'd rather have ankle support than not.
I waterproofed them right away with nikwax, but a little water still seeped in the first time walking through puddles/mud, right along where the rubber seals to the boot. A little extra glue there might do the trick, though.
For the price, they are great. Anyone really into hiking should be willing to put in the little extra love to seal the rubber and apply a wax themselves, so for under $100 on sale, you can't beat these shoes.

Comments about KEEN Women's Pyrenees Hiking Boots:

These boots are worth every dime...I beat them heartlessly and they lasted about 2.5 years and are just now falling apart. Worn on all my 20+ mile hikes, through water and strapped into snowshoes. Hands down the best boots I've ever worn. I bought two more pair and I'll cry if Keen discontinues them.

Comments about KEEN Women's Pyrenees Hiking Boots:

I use these boots for winter walks in the city, getting to and from work's parking garage and office building, and treks to-from meetings in other buildings. I need sure footing on winter's icy sidewalks and neighborhood streets and these boots provide it. They are a bit stiff when new; I am hoping the leather gets softer and softer as I wear them through the long Minnesota winters and last for the rest of my lifetime.
