The Petzl Reverso 4 is an ultra-light (59 g) multi-purpose belay/rappel device that regulates the amount of braking friction on the rope according to its diameter and condition.Features/Benefits:

Great product, I am SUPER happy with it. Had a few BD ATC's wear funny and noticed most of them seemed to wear with a slight groove that is perpendicular to the rope on the inside...it definitely was possible to feel it and sharp enough to catch a fingernail if you tried...told BD and they said it was "normal" but that didn't fly with me....so I ditched the ATC and went with this bad boy.... it is insanely smooth when belaying, impressively smooth when rapping, and does a great job when belaying the second.
Go for it, its super light and i love it.

This was my first belay purchase and I'm incredibly happy with it. I was previously using a Black Diamond standard issue and found this to be much easier to use. Right from the beginning I could tell there was more resistance on the rope and I wasn't working as hard. The belay device locks in really nicely and provides a ton of functionality.
