I bought 3 of these lights at the beginning of the winter season for night snowshoeing. One for me, my wife, and my son. Most of our adventures are a mix of some open areas with many dense forested areas. These lights are just superb. The bright light penetrates deep into the woods and shines quite well in the open areas. The headlamps cover a broad area and are not quite as focused as a flashlight. As an example I have a Rayovac Sportsman led flashlight rated at 120 lumens that will shine further down the trail. It doesn't even begin to cover the broad area that these headlamps do. The light is a brilliant white which really highlights the features of the forest. The white birch trees seem to magically glow in the dark. The beam easily reaches to the top of 70+ foot pines. On one of our treks I thought I saw a bunch of beady eyes staring at us (Scary). It was a multitude of fire tacks stuck into the trees! One recommendation I can make is to take the alkaline batteries that come with these headlamps and set them aside for a low drain device ie. remote controls. Buy yourself some quality lithium batteries or quality rechargable ones. The light output isn't any brighter but the bright light output lasts considerably longer with these types of batteries. I find these headlamps to be very comfortable and half the time forget I have one strapped to my head. The headlamps have been completely wet for hours on end from falling snow with temps above freezing. They have performed perfectly in these conditions. Love these headlamps!

This is a very bright light but it should be with 4 aa batteries.
Everything is great except for the on and off button is touchy, I have to put a battery in backwards so the light won't come on accidently in my back pack.

I use this headlamp for hiking and running my team of sled dogs at night. I find the light to be very bright. The beam floods the trail and shines up ahead of my twelve dog team. It is very light weight and durable. I like having the ability to manually adjust the beam for times when less light is required. I also carry a one in my sled bag for backup.

It is a great light for hands free lighting of my tasks. That is, it is mostly a working light.

It has the best light I've seen from a AA battery headlamp. But that point is all but moot. When adjusting the size, the plastic adjusters come undone from the strap very easily. Leaving you with an non- adjustable size 10 hat size headlamp.

I would not trust this headlamp in any cold weather or climbing situation. Its honestly very dangerous the way the plastic adjusters are designed.

If you are skeptical of my review I suggest you go to the store and check it r out for yourself. Just pull somewhat hard on the strap to tighten and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Great Light! Absolutely different from the old version which was very mediocre with its highly focused beam and cheap plastic.

Includes many useful features and provides the best kind of beam for walking in the dark: not too concentrated and not too wide.

The hinge on which the light rotates can be tightened by a small screwdriver allowing the light to stay at an angle you set it to.

I bought this light and mounted it on my cycling helmet (Giro Hex). It's the brightest most multipurpose light I own. I like the wide light spill on the trail and it casts a bright white light. I have also used it to repair a flat, find something in my truck and when the electricity is down. It also uses 2300mAh rechargeable batteries!
