I bought these gloves to replace a set of similar Smartwool liners that I lost on the trail last Spring. I love merino wool in the Fall & Winter, and these liners are an improvement on what I had last year. The fabric weave has a bit more to it, and feels very natural against the skin.
The key feature is the material on the thumb & index finger which allows you to operate a touchscreen device. This feature has been handy, as I use my iPhone in the car and on walks to play music - it's nice not having to take my glove off to change the track!
This glove would work as a liner for a pair of mitts on the slopes, but it's probably best used as a comfortable option to keep your hands warm walking around town or campus this winter or while waiting for your car to heat up!

I wore these gloves about 3 times. The first thing I noticed is that the wind cuts right through them taking away any warmth they might have held. I could let that slide though, since I would primarilly be using them as liners unders my ski gloves. However, after the 3rd use, I noticed a good sized hole in one of the fingers. This may have been due to terrible durability or possibly a random manufacturing error, but the bottom line is that these are going back to the store.

very light weight gloves, perfect for cooler days but do not provide significant warmth. material works well with touch screens - have not had a single problem.
