These shoes are great for wear in the winter months. The thick rubber sole ensures good traction on slicker roads. The only thing I don't like, as is with all Sorel shoes I own, is there is no arch support, its very flat inside and tends to the drive the foot towards increased pronation. I had to put a support insole in to make the shoe wearable as I have high rigid arches.
Overall I love them and wear them to work as well as out and about.
