I don't normally write reviews but I just had to for this. After 20+ yrs, my old boots were done. I told the salesman what i needed and after many try ons, these were the last and most incredible. They go on like a slipper-so comfortable. Though they say narrow footing in tech specs, they are NOT at all. I am normally 8.5 but wear 9 for hiking, have a normal foot width and there is ample room with a heavy sock without being loose. Nothing slipped even when i tried with a thinner sock. Testing them out (like i would use on a trail in Glacier), i was so impressed. Loved the fact that you don't sit up high on the sole. You can actually feel the ground. They are stable and flexible. The sole has deep angled tread to hold on to the ground-up or down. When your feet are so important, you can get excited over a pair of boots like these. Can't wait to actually get them "dirty". I am confident that they will live up to my expectation on trails.

After trying on about 50 hiking boots, I choose the Scarpa Luna Hiking Boots because they are very smooth on the inside - no harsh seams; great cushioning around ankles [soft but firm :) ]; and waterproof. Also, when testing the 'climb', the width in the toe is perfect for the average foot before and after an all day hike. Unfortunately, this Scarpa model (Luna) only has 1/2 sizes (US - 6.5; 7.5; 8.5...) and I needed the full size so I had to purchase the size up which is .5 bigger than what I needed. That said, the length of the boot is a bit longer than I need/prefer, which is the only bad thing about this boot.

These boots look good and felt good in the store compared to my old, blown out hiking boots. However,after about a week, I realized the foot bed is designed badly. Felt like a low high heeled shoe. Heel is way too high compared to the ball of the foot.SOOOO uncomfortable for working on my feet all day or walking even a mile or so. Two weeks old and I'll not wear them again.
