Comments about VASQUE Men's Bitterroot GTX Backpacking Boots:
This is the sixth pair I have owned between this style and the lighter brown it was my favorite boot for work because I could wear them all day without my feet and my back being sore they would remain water proof for at least a year sometimes longer but the last pair I had two return because after two weeks the sole had water trapped in it and began to stink of mold I returned them to the store and they were replaced no problems and seem to be holding up so far I also bought the darker brown because the sole seemed better less then two weeks later the boot leaks at we're your toes bend I really want to give these boats a chance because I have worn them for years but I may have to find something better if the soles just won't last overall a great boot but lately been disappointed

Comments about VASQUE Men's Bitterroot GTX Backpacking Boots:
Bought the Bitteroot, 3 weeks before a 8 day trek. Plenty enough time to break them in and they needed it. After the second week, and couple lite hikes, with out a pack. The glue holding the toe cap and side rubber gave way. The rubber separated from the leather. I do It doesn't seem to be structurally compromised, but it is unsettling enough to make you want to change them out, or replace them, and be a little P off. EMS did offered to replace or refund. With less than 5 days out, I am fearful to replace or exchange. One: even have the boots arrive in enough time and Two: having to break in a new pair on the trail sounds painful. I will carry glue on the trail with me for last min repairs. Grrrr! FYI. I sent a letter/email to VASQUE asking for help or information. No response as of yet..... Thanks VASQUE.
