I paid the premium price for Thule top of the line bike rack, thinking it would save me the hassle that I've heard from friends about loading bikes on racks. I was wrong. While very easy to install this rack on my car with the turning knob, the super soft rubber bike cradles are super THICK. Makes it difficult if not impossible to get ladies and kids bikes to slide over the cradles. This is a great rack if you have 4 really expensive men's bikes because the cushioning is deluxe, but a hassle and useless if you've got non-standard bikes. Even with bike adapter bars (added cost!) there isn't much clearance to fit over the cradles.
