I needed a rack to carry my cruiser, which is quite heavy and also a women's frame and my daughter's bike which is small and hard to fit on most bike racks. I also needed something that would fold out of the way for my hatchback. I needed an adapter bar for my bike - the rep told me I did not - that's the only drawback. Otherwise this fits our bikes well, is very stable and the price was right. I particularly like the amount of clearance from the car - no worries about the bikes hitting the hatch window.
