As an approach shoe, it's not bad, and for easy scrambles and climbs the rubber holds well. Won't replace real climbing shoes for smearing a rock wall, but that's why you get climbing shoes. Negatives revolve around construction quality. The stitching on the side came apart within three weeks of moderate to low use. Also: product images colors are slightly off. The red ones I thought I got are a lipsticky maroon.

When I ordered these shoes, I expected them to be a lot flimsier - like Converse AllStars or something. However, they're not at all! At once lined and affixed with sticky rubber in important spots, they're also magically comfortable and minimalistic. The lining, though synthetic, feels like suede. With a narrow profile, these can be easily used for light aid climbing and scrambling - as well as in town. Awesome shoes!
