Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Men's Kickback Crew, L/S:
I have the long-sleeved and short-sleeved version. This is a better type of shirt than most others whether it is the EMS brand or not. One thing I like is that the shirt covers more of your neck than most T-shirts. Most others are designed so as to reveal some of your clavicle and a small part of your shoulders where they meet the base of the neck. What a lot of clothing designers don't seem to consider is that a T-shirt with a collar that fully covers the clavicle and shoulders is desirable if the wearer is going to carry a backpack. The shoulder straps of a backpack can cause friction on your clavicle and shoulders where it is not covered by a T-shirt. Also it is best to have a T-shirt that protects you from the sun . Therefore one that "hugs" your neck ( without choking you ) is the kind of design that I think there should be more of. This EMS Kickback T-shirt is the first one I have ever bought that has this desirable feature.
As for the rest of the T-shirt, the material is comfortable and there are no tags on the neck area to cause itching.
The sleeves on the long-sleeved version are good because they are not too long and when you roll them up , they have enough snugness to stay up and not roll down.
The design of the shirt is also good because it is not really "fancy" with logos or illustrations on the front or back or anywhere. Those kinds of designs are good if you are going to a rock concert or going to hang out with a motorcycle gang. The plain color design makes the shirt versatile enough to wear for different occasions.
I have yet to wear the T-shirt in really warm weather so I would not know if it is comfortable enough in sweltering heat.
The shirt has a good cut to it so that you can move your arms above your head and the rest of the shirt does not ride up, so it covers well down past the waist area.
It is a men's T-shirt but women can wear it too and it does not look "out of place" even if it does not have "princess seams."
It is essentially good for unisex use.
Also it is essentially for thinner people but not so thin that it too tight. It has just the right amount of "looseness" to it.
I hope the EMS does not discontinue this shirt anytime soon, and should design more of this type of T-shirt.
Perhaps there should be a greater variety of colors such as chocolate brown, hunter green, taupe, slate blue, brick red, and yellow orhre.
One possible flaw is that I have been wearing the shirt for a while since buying it. I washed it a few times. A teensie bit of "fuzziness" has developed on the sleeve and hip area near the side seams. I think that is referred to as "pilling"
I hope it does not develop more of this.
One type of EMS T-shirt that I previously bought called the "Nomad Crew" ( if I am not mistaken) was quite good mainly because it was lightweight, more than this Kickback one, but the "Nomad crew" pilled like crazy and looked awful after a few washings and wearings.
(You hear that EMS ?)
So the Kickback crew is essentially good in many respects but I hope it's looks and durability lasts a good long time.
Please make more designs like this.
