I bought a pair of these a year ago and liked them a lot. So I ordered a couple more pair this spring. Alas, EMS seems to have gone to a less appealing material (a little thinner, so I'm concerned about wear, and with a bit of an unattractive sheen). Why did they do that?? Nevertheless, I will keep them. I like the design, they fit well, and they're versatile. I use them for hiking and canoeing. I'm not a fan of shorts with Velcro closures, and these shorts do not have them (nice zippered rear pocket instead).
