Comments about MOUNTAIN HARDWEAR Men's Portino Shorts:

I really like these shorts but had to return them. They have a unique closure system with two internal snap buttons, a zipper that goes all the way to the top, and a belt. One of the reasons I returned the shorts is because one of the internal buttons would not snap closed; but the main reason I returned them is because of the belt. It is a unique design, but it is very difficult to operate. You have to be very precise to undo the hook system, otherwise the hook catches on the loop it goes through, and you will not be able to undo the shorts. Not a good situation if you have to take your shorts off quickly. The overall shorts closure system is way too fussy. Sorry Mountain Hardware, but you had it right with the old plastic belt closure system that I am used to on the older canvas shorts of your that I am trying to replace.
