They've been through the wash & keep their shape & yet still are nice & soft. (they did NOT shrink or get stiff like some wool products do). I was worried that the thicker parts might be too thick for my winter shoes (Merrills & boots), but they're good. They stay up, don't slide around, fit nice, wash well. I'd buy them again! I spend a lot of time standing & walking- either painting in my studio or out in nature & need my feet to feel comfortable ALL day!
