Comments about WILDERNESS SYSTEMS Pungo 140 Kayak:
I wanted a kayak made for larger paddlers for part of a physical fitness program. I have owned and paddled an 18' Grumman canoe for @10 years and 20 years of canoeing prior to that. There is lots of wind where I live now and want a lower profile boat.
The Pungo is well made. I like the two bulkheads and two water tight cargo hatches. The large cockpit allows me to get my legs in fairly easily. It only took a couple of minutes to get comfortable in the Pungo 140. I'm very pleased with stability, maneuverability and comfortable adjustable seat. I also love the ease of paddling and good tracking the Pungo 140 has.
This summer I plan to get a lot more kayak experience; flat water, easy rivers and some fishing in.
