I saw there was only one rating for this camera and it was bad... And it was a return I believe, so not sure why the negative review.
I purchased the silver edition from EMS and it didn't work. Some gopro cameras have bad batteries... Don't give up on them. Also they need to be updated when you get them.
Ems didn't have any more in stock, so I purchased the Contour from them. As a previous Gopro user, I must admit the quality just didn't compare.
While I kept the contour for other uses, I went online and purchased the Gopro black edition (upgraded because I found out the black edition can be used with smart phones).
The quality is just what I expected... Awesome. At the lowest setting the camera shoots at a whopping 240 fps! It shoots all the way up to 4000 HD! It comes with a remote control which I use sometimes, but I mostly use my cell phone for previews and control.
Gopro got a bad rap because some people didn't update their firmware and so there cameras didn't work. They are aware of the issue and work to help resolve the issue. If you have a problem, call them,don't just email them because you won't hear from them. This camera still deserves a 5 star review even after the work I had to go through because it is that good.
