Comments about SMARTWOOL Women's PhD HyFi Vest:

I bought this vest as an extra layer to have available for skiing on colder days when I would need a little extra insulation. I layered it over my 2.0 under armour shirt (which I love) and another t-shirt, and though I found that it did add core warmth it did not add quite as much as I was expecting from such an expensive smartwool item. I will say that the vest has held up well so far, looks and feels of excellent quality. I bought it because I had some major coupons but in general I don't really understand why it's priced so highly. I think you could probably get a thin microfleece vest much cheaper which would be just as warm if not warmer. This vest might only be better if you're wearing it as an outer garment and need wind protection as it's a very dense weave.
