Comments about OUTDOOR RESEARCH Men's Verglas Gaiters:

I bought these for a winter, alpine climb up Mt. Washington. With snow drifts up to my thighs and waist, snow never got into my boots. Before and after the climb, they were easy to get on and off. I also found that the Verglas gaiters were the "Goldilocks" of all the Outdoor Research gaiter models. I didn't feel like the Rocky Mountain gaiters were heavy duty enough for an alpine ascent, but the Crocodiles just seemed too heavy, bulky, and slow. The Verglas were just perfect. The only one, small negative I found was that the snap/clasp at the top of the gaiter kept coming undone during the climb, and I had some trouble closing it with a lack of dexterity that heavy gloves create. But this was my very first time using them, so perhaps they just need to get broken in a bit first before the snaps/clasps completely adjust to holding in a closed position.
